It's like crack...one ride and you're hooked

If you've been in the camping section you will remember that I went camping one December weekend in 2002. Well, a bit bored I was I decided to rent a quad for the day to ride with my friends. That's all it took. Now, I had always liked quads and motorcycles, but they were something that my mom had always looked down upon. There were a few rides given by friends who had some motorcycles when we lived across from this field (now the Highway 168 offramp at Bullard Avenue is Clovis.)

After I returned from the trip I started to really investigate buying a quad. Well, I had it down to a Polaris Trailboss, Honda 300ex and Yamaha Warrior. The local Polaris dealer was out of stock when I drove down one day at lunch to check them out. I had actually ridden one for a short time in January of 2003. Nice and comfy, like a couch.

Next up was the Honda dealer, who calls me up a couple days later to tell me everything went through and my new quad was ready to be picked up. WHOA. Wait. I said to check the credit and all that while I was making up my mind. I was thinking the 300ex was going to be a bit too small for me. And it probably was.

Next up was the local Yamaha dealer. I had ridden a Warrior in October, but wasn't happy with it. It was a bit tight in the ergonomics area. But I did end up getting one after keeping the dealer waiting. I was going back and forth. On the cell phone with a friend who said her dealer could get me one for a couple hundred left but I would have to wait. Can't wait! Need it now! SOLD! (I could have waited, ended up getting sick that weekend and couldn't ride anyways!)

So now I'm the owner of a 2003 Yamaha Warrior in black and red. Those who know me would know this as that's where I get my currently used screen name for many sites: blackandredwarrior, or brw for short.
